The mission of the House of the Samurai is to preserve, promote, and perpetuate the ancient martial traditions of Japan and Okinawa and to train and inspire our students to strive to achieve the perfection of self and moral dignity.
We have been serving the local community since 1974. We offer personalized, family-style, classical martial arts instruction for men, women and children under optimum conditions in our 4,400 square foot, custom designed, aesthetically beautiful, Okinawan/Japanese Dojo (Training Hall). Our curriculum conforms to the highest standards of excellence. In fact, the Japanese Ministry of Education via the International Organization of All Japan Karate-Do Federation internationally licensed our school on January 1, 1994, registration USA 10250JS.
The House of the Samurai is one of the few schools outside of Japan and Okinawa to receive this level of accreditation. This school is also the World Headquarters of Shidokan International Karate-Do/Kobu-Do Training and Research Federation.
Experts agree that each step in a child’s development is critical and that a child’s emotional well-being is profoundly affected by their parents, teachers, peers and environment. The House of the Samurai works together with our students, their families and the community to foster positive values both inside and outside the Dojo. Before you register your child, or yourself, with just any martial arts school, please schedule an appointment to talk to us.
Our carefully structured programs go far beyond the development of effective self-defense skills. While honoring centuries old martial arts traditions, we provide our students with a comprehensive personal development program specifically designed to holistically improve the quality of their lives. We monitor our students’ progress constantly and walk with them every step of the way on their journey to Black Belt and beyond.
